Thrombosis: Treatment and Complications
What is Thrombosis?
The thrombus is a mass that forms within the circulatory apparatus and consists of the patient’s blood, specifically the solid elements of blood. In an individual can live blood clot but this is outside the circulatory system such as blood flowing to the peritoneum, the pleura or pericardium. That blood clot is a thrombus and not because it is outside the cardiovascular system.
TREATMENT AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The treatment is to inhibit the coagulation cascade and dissolve clots. Enzyme products are used that are able to dissolve the fibrin and platelets, to recover the permeability of the vessel. And if that permeability recovery occurs before 6 hours of thrombus installed, you can prevent necrosis of the territory. For that we must make an early diagnosis and transport the patient to the right place within the first 6 hours if possible.
COMPLICATIONS Depend on the type of movement as if in a terminal site, most likely in territory that is occluded by the ischemia tissue to die. However, in a territory with sufficient anastomosis may be that nothing happens as the circulation area is quickly taken off the collateral.
