Health Education
“Health education is a complex task-oriented behaviors in support of promoting health and well-being individually and collectively.
Health education not only communicate information but also fosters the motivation, skills and confidence, that those conditions necessary to act with a view to improve health.
Health education involves communicating information regarding the socioeconomic and environmental conditions affecting the implied health claims, other information about the individual factors of risk and risk behavior, or the use of the health care system. Health education can therefore cover the provision of information and capacity building in order to improve health and reduce illness of individuals and groups, through the influence on attitudes and behaviors. The purpose of the ES can be summarized as follows:
* Be mindful of your health, the aim is to bring out the awareness of their health problems.
* Increase knowledge through information and expertise on issues that people are already aware of which, however, the real knowledge or understanding are limited.
* Achieving awareness in relation to a particular problem or health in general, identifying what is truly important.
* Making a change of habits: we take into consideration personnel decisions for the future in general or on a particular aspect of health. The decision is based on information, knowledge and understanding of the most important values involved.
* Initiate a change in behavior by enforcing a decision that actually change “something” in relation to a health problem.
* Promoting social change. It ‘a purpose quite complex: it means making decisions easier for health through changes in the social and physical environment, people are encouraged to adopt healthier behaviors.
