Health research aimed arises in a series of coordinated interventions, directed at improving the regional health systems and through the use of innovations that affect the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases, both through models of functioning of health services can lead to health care effective, efficient and appropriate.

The research projects funded in 2007 will contribute to the objectives and health system outlined in the Regional Health Services Plan 2006-2008, and in particular:

* Fight disease high specificity for Sardinia and diseases with higher incidence epidemiological
* To promote the study and testing of strategies designed to resolve the structural problems of the network of supply and retraining assistance.

Consequences are identified two macro areas of intervention, one on research directly related to the objectives of health, the other concerned the organization of social and health services.
